I am Woman- Jantse Wilson
It will be impossible to capture the cherished feelings I have for my captivating sister. The woman I’ve always leaned on for vigorous strength, profound wisdom, and unwavering friendship, because this is what she offers so naturally.
Before me sits an exquisite beauty, with glossy dark brown hair that cascades down her shoulders and frames her fierce dark gray/green eyes- eyes that understand my thinking without an uttered word. So little needs to be said before she is already connected with me at the heart. We have lived on this earth for the same 35 years, and because of the depth in which I cherish my twin sister, no words will be able to truly elucidate all that I love and understand about her. No word will ever procure the connection we have.
But I will do my best to explain through written word a few of the lessons she has taught me, in hopes that what is shared will also benefit you.
Women have the capability to bring solace, beauty, comfort, and wisdom to any circumstance. When womanhood is embraced, all of these things can be obtained.
Jantse is I am Woman, and here is my sister’s story…
“Women are multi-dimensional. Often, we can sense existing truth deep within our souls, guiding our thoughts on how to proceed in our journey. It’s usually only after a trial or a period of time that we finally realize the answer was within us all along. Still, we needed the experience paired with intuition to truly see and understand the truth that always existed in our hearts.” -Jantse
Perhaps unknowingly, Jantse describes her own journey as a chiasmus: starting with intuition of the heart, moving through life experiences, and returning to the heart again- this time with insightful understanding. She sees this as a cycle of self-reflection leading to self-realization.
Recalling different chapters in her life, she remembers moments when she felt prompted to make certain choices. Some promptings were small, starting as mere ideas, that later blossomed into bigger things that influenced the direction of her life. Other premonitions were bold and urgently inspiring, propelling her to take quick action. Only later would her premonition emphasize the importance of following intuition as changes quickly unfolded in her life.
Despite facing difficult trials in her previous chapters, Jantse now finds herself peacefully cradling her newborn daughter, with her two older sons by her side. Reflecting on her journey, she realizes that she had to learn valuable lessons to reach this point, while always staying attuned to the impressions within her.
Her journey led her to a supportive partner and the opportunity to grow her family. With her family she lives in a beautiful light gray home with white trim. There is a garden in the backyard and a welcoming bench on the front porch. She can remember hearing her own voice guiding her towards this life- the one she always wanted that provides security and peace.
Jantse believes that what we need to do next is already known somewhere inside us, and this intuition (or our gut feeling) should never be ignored. Our inner selves are guiding us toward our intended selves through the experiences we’re meant to weather. Life is a journey of learning and growth, and we’re exactly where we need to be at this time in order to progress towards something greater.
My sister has always been deeply connected with profound insights. When asked where she seeks out her own additional wisdom, or what space does she purposefully immerse herself in to stay attuned to these impressions, she explains:
“Yoga helps me connect with what some refer to as spiritual experiences. For me, yoga connects me to the entire universe. I feel so much peace on a yoga mat. It is in these moments, I can easily believe that I am who I am meant to be. Negative feelings and challenges are part of life’s journey, but I’ve learned not to let them consume me. Yoga helps me feel part of the entire experience of life, both the joy and the hardships. Feeling the connection of the universe helps me feel full of life! And this feeling empowers me to continue on as I am.”
Jantse, a woman of nature, often finds solace in the early mornings on her back patio. Surrounded by the calm colors of nature: earthy tones of beige, blue, and light greens, her mason jar filled with leaf-brewed tea in hand. As she runs her feet through the cold grass (her favorite), she reflects on the journey that led her to these special moments. Remembering all that she has built from her young beginnings.
Her experiences in motherhood, partnership, and self-love have been diverse and profound. Each one building upon the last, and all contributing to her becoming the strong and incredible woman she is today. With more peace than ever before, she finds that nature serves as a reminder of her womanlike, influential capabilities as she continues in her journey.
For Jantse, anywhere she can connect with nature is where she feels most herself, where she can truly embody her own vision of self-love. Her heart has guided her on a powerful journey, leading her to embrace self-love and the motivation to be present in every moment.
A closing thought on her journey, Jantse shares a solicitous insight:
“You are your own best friend. You are the only sure constant in your life. You came to Earth with yourself, and you’ll be the only one to really leave with yourself. Self-love is so important. Be aware of how you talk to yourself, and of the relationship you have with yourself. Always be aware of what your inner self is trying to say.”
